BSAE (Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage) of Milan and Haltadefinizione®, offer the worldwide web users something that can really be considered a little virtual gallery called “Postcards from the Risorgimento". As of April 13, and throughout 2011, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 150 years of Italian Unity, on the Superintendence website (www.brera.beniculturali.it) and on Haltadefinizione website you will be able to admire six paintings of the Brera Picture-Gallery which, with different approaches, recall events, moments and feelings of the years that led to the Italian unification.
These shootings are part of a more structured and complex project that has been set out by an agreement between the Superintendence and Haltadefinizione®, which provides for digitalization of several works of the Picture-Gallery. The acquisition campaign, made by using cutting-edge technologies and in accordance with the criteria to safeguard and protect the works, already counts over 13,000 photos that have allowed to produce images with over 1000 ppi (pixel per inch) resolution on the actual size of the painting.
The same technology has already been successfully used for the shooting of the paintings of the Uffizi Gallery, of the Ambrosiana Picture-Gallery and other important masterpieces.
