The setting of the Main Conference Room at the center of the G8 conference taking place in L’Aquila, Italy, is the result of a fascinating and functional project. The background of the room shows a great view of the charming landscape of the Gran Sasso realized thanks to an clever architectural trick: a panoramic glass window and an imposing high definition reproduction of the Abruzzo’s high mountain tops.
The reproduction, covering a surface of over 5400 square feet, about 500 square metres, show a lot of detail of the stunning landscape of the karstic basin of Campo Pericoli, a highly representative site of the Gran Sasso slope of L’Aquila. It was photographed in high definition by the staff of Haltadefinizione. This unique landscape was shot from the Saddle of Monte Aquila, at the height of 2,335 metres, in more than 400 unique shots, then stitched together to create the incredible background for the room.
